2. Reference List Format

Be sure to understand the difference between a reference list and bibliography as outlined in the following quote.  In your topic assignments, you are expected to include a reference list:








a. Journal Articles:

Please note:  If using multiple references from the same author in the same year (i.e. numerous Andrews lectures), then you must differentiate them in the body of your text, and in the reference list, with a lower case letter.  For example,: Andrews, 2014a, 2014b, 2014c, where each of these refers to a different lecture.

The alphabetized reference list at the end of a journal article documents the article and provides the information necessary to identify and retrieve each source.  Authors should choose references judiciously and must only include the sources that were used in the research and preparation of the article...In contrast, a bibliography cites works for background or for further reading and may include descriptive notes. (APA, 1995, p. 174)
